Balaclava

Why not wear a balaclava? They’re a scarf, a hat, and earmuffs in one airtight package.

It bothers me that so few people are willing to be comfortable because it looks ridiculous.

The system: Don’t worry about looking ridiculous if it means you’re going to be warm and comfortable.

Therefore, the system: Wear a balaclava.

Fingerless Gloves

While the make you look like a hobo, or a character from Oliver Twist, fingerless gloves are the way to go in these situations:

1. Staying warm in a cold house, but where you need your fingers to do something

2. Staying warm outside, but where you need your fingers to do something

3. Getting away with wearing gloves in the fall, because they’re not really gloves. But if your hands are cold, you still want to keep them warm.

I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m planning on wearing them inside of mittens as a double layer so that when I need to do something in the freezing cold requiring detailed digitry, I can stay warm throughout the process.

Waking Up

Wake up early on Sunday mornings.

The advantages of this are you can more fully enjoy the weekend if awake. You have less stress getting your work done that needs to be ready for the week. You can fall asleep early so the shock of getting up Monday is smaller.

Partying and Taking Care

System Sally is all for a nice time. That being said, do not do anything that is likely to cause unnecessary harm. There are many activities that can provide genuine fun where injury is common or at least unpreventable, so there is no reason whatsoever to add any potential for injury or harm.

Loud music is already harmful to your hearing, why make it intentionally louder?

Large gatherings of people can be uncontrollable so why add more things to the mix that make it more uncontrollable?

The body is a sensitive breakable organism, why introduce more chemicals, fits of violence (even the “loving” variety), or general disregard into the system?

It is important not to take what I am saying and think I am suggesting to lock one’s self up and never do anything. Quite the contrary, life should be explored, and the body should be pushed to its limits. It is the intention that matters, and it is important that life and fun is never lived as a mere result of not caring about the fate or future of body and mind.

Mobile Flossing

I do want to thank a reader for their question about this.

I thought this would have gone without saying, but even so, System Sally jumps at the opportunity to make further clarifications. When starting your mobile flossing system, surely keep this discrete. Do not floss where innocent people are living, walking, or eating, or anything of that nature.

Good places to floss mobile:
1. Your bedroom
2. Just outside the door if you’re walking your dog
3. In a bathroom
4. In your car, when you’ve just eaten at a restaurant and want to clean your mouth. Still, be discrete.

Eat Apples Skin Off

Eat apples but be sure to peel the skin.

The advantages of this are that you can actually eat an apple now.

Basketball Sneakers

If you have weak ankles, and still want to run or do atheletic things, use basketball sneakers to keep your ankles supported while still wearing a lightweight softer shoe than a leather dress shoe.

Aloe Vera

Do not use aloe vera as a general rule. Putting it on a burn will only serve to make the burn burn more, and in general it’s a pretty useless product.

Vitamins

Take a daily B-complex plus C vitamin.

Walking

Walk in order to:

1) get from one place to another

2) get fit

3) go for a walk

4) cool down after running
